Railsplitter Golf Finishes Fifth At Tusculum Fall Classic

GREENEVILLE, TN -- LMU's Eric Kennedy tied for first after 36 holes, but Limestone's Phillip Rogers won the tiebreaker and captured the medalist honors in the Tusculum Fall Classic. As a team LMU finished in fifth place with 576, which was 17 strokes behind tournament champion Limestone and 13 behind tournament host and fellow South Atlantic Conference member Tusculum College.
Kennedy's (68-69=137) second place finish marks the fourth time the junior has finished in the top two in a tournament. Senior Cory Talley finished tied for eighteenth with 72-71=143, while fellow senior Cory Bartlett finished tied for 24th with 70-75=145. Dusty Louth finished tied for 45th with 76-75=151 and Kyle Warwick finished tied for 57th with 79-77=156.
LMU finished two strokes behind the Newberry B Team (574). Fellow SAC member Catawba finished tied for seventh with 579 while Wingate finished ninth with 580. Lenoir-Rhyne finished 10th with 588 and Mars Hill came in at twelfth with 620.
The Railsplitters will next hit the links at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate Oct. 4-5.
