Lady Railsplitters Finish Seventh At Patsy Rendleman Invitational.

SALISBURY, NC — The Lincoln Memorial University women’s golf team shot a final-round 325 (+37) on Tuesday to finish in fifth place in the Patsy Rendleman Invitational at the Country Club of Salisbury.
The Lady Railsplitters finished the tournament with a two-round total of 639 (314-325, +63). Belmont Abbey turned in a 297 to win the tournament with a tournament record of 591 (294-297, +15), while UNC Pembroke claimed second with a score of 599 (297-302, +23). Newberry and Pfeiffer each shot 625 (+49) to finish in a tie for third.
Kirsten Wolff led the Lady Railsplitters with her 16th place (tied) finish. She carded 156 for the tournament.
Brittany McCown finished tied for 21st with a 158, one stroke ahead of teammate Maria Stapleton who finished tied for 25th. Desta Coaker carded 166 to finish 45th and Whitney Ball fired a 177 to finish tied for 63rd.
Megan Rutter competed as an individual and carded a 178, tying her for 67th.
Belmont Abbey’s Megan Wallace fired a tournament-record 6-under 66 to win medalist honors. Wallace finished with a two-round total of 139, which was also a 36-hole tournament record.
The Patsy Rendleman Invitational closes out the Lady Railsplitters’ fall schedule. They will hit the links again in February.
