Clayton State Upsets #19 LMU 2-1

MORROW, GA -- Clayton State pulled off a stunning 2-1 double-overtime victory over visiting Lincoln Memorial University on Saturday.
The victory was significant giving the fact that LMU came into the game ranked 19th in the nation in Division II, was ranked No. 1 in the nation last week and was NCAA Division II national runner-up last season.
Clayton State improved to 2-3 with its second straight victory, while LMU falls to 4-1-1.
Freshman Leigthton Fredericks accounted for both Clayton State goals, but the second proved to be the game-winner as he hammered home a tight cross from Ryan Pugh in the 107th minute of the game. Fredericks earlier gave the Lakers a 1-0 lead in the 51st minute off a deflection of a shot attempt by teammate Angel Kalinov.
LMU tied the game 1-1 in the 77th minute as Jimmy Vandenhurk scored off a cross from Ross Buckley.
Clayton State goalkeeper David Cristofoli recorded three saves, while LMU's Michael Watkins recorded eight saves.
