Railsplitter Golf Team Wins Cherokee Valley Invitational

TIGERVILLE, SC -- The LMU men's golf team won their second tournament of the season as they won the Cherokee Valley Invitational by 35 strokes.
LMU shot a one over par 577 (285-292) to take home the first-place trophy. Tri-County Community College (302-310=612) was second, followed by host North Greenville (302-313=615), Indiana Wesleyan (310-307=617) and Limestone (308-314=622). Mars Hill rounded out the field with a 320-318=638.
LMU's Cory Bartlett took medalist honors for the first time in his career with a scorching 67–70=137(-7), which was eight strokes better than teammates Eric Kennedy (69-76 = 145) and Jamie Chapman (75-70=145), who tied for second place. Joshua Cornett (74-76=150) was sixth while Corey Talley and Luke Butler tied for seventh with equal 75-77=152 scores. David Lee (79-74=153) tied for eleventh while Dusty Louth tied for 28th with a 80-81=161.
LMU will next hit the greens at the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate April 4-5 in Spring Hill, Tennessee.
