Men's Soccer Signs Burnett & Demircan

HARROGATE, TN - Lincoln Memorial University Head Soccer Coach Helio D'Anna has been putting the finishing touches on his 2011 men's soccer roster over the past few weeks. Today Coach D'Anna announced the additions of Dylan Burnett, a 6'0" 180 lb. midfield/defender from Brighton High School in Atoka, Tennessee and Hakan Demircan, a 5'7" 133 midfielder from Wiesbaden American High School in Germany.
Burnett is the all-time leading scorer and assist leader at Brighton High School with 35 goals and 45 assists for a total of 115 points. A four-year starter, Burnett started in ever game over the past four seasons and led the varsity as a freshman to the regionals and sectionals. During his senior season, Burnett was named Captain and received MVP honors, while receiving All-district and All-Region and All-Memphis Metro three of his four years.
Demircan is a collegiate transfer, having played at UMUC-Europe. During his senior season of high school soccer however, Demircan was named All-Europe 1st Team, All-Tournament, Team Captain, Junior All-Europe 2nd Team, All-Conference Honorable Mention and Team Captain.
"I am happy to add these two young men to our roster," says LMU's D'Anna. "Dylan will contribute both as a defender and defensive mid. Hakan will play different positions in the middle, as well as the forward position. We have assembled a strong team this year and our expectations are very high."
The 2011 Railsplitters are expected to report to campus in mid August for preseason conditioning and will open the season September 1st on the road against Young Harris College in Georgia.
