Railsplitter Golf Finishes Third At LMU Invitational

PINEVILLE, KY -- The Lincoln Memorial University men's golf team finished in third place at their LMU Invitational Tournament, held at Wasioto Winds Golf Course in Pineville, Kentucky.
The Railsplitters carded a 295-301=592 to finish 20 over par for the tournament.
King College won the event with a 579, five strokes ahead of Pfeiffer. Tusculum (601) placed fourth, followed by Anderson, Lenoir-Rhyne and the LMU Blue Team in a three-way tie for fifth with a 603. Catawba (605) was eighth, followed by Brevard (607), Montevallo (608) and Cape Fear Community College (609). North Greenville and Walters State tied for 12th with 610 apiece, followed by Limestone (611), the LMU Gray Team (614) and UVa-Wise (650).
Leading the way for the Railsplitters was Jamie Chapman, who carded 147 to tie for 11th. Eric Kennedy was a strike behind and tied for 15th, followed by Braden Galyon's 150 which tied him for 25th. Joshua Cornett and David Lee each had 152 to tie for 36th and Ryan Berthelson, playing as an individual, placed 82nd with a 168.
The LMU Blue Team was led by Tre Mullins, who tied for fourth place with a 143. Johnny Page tied for 15th with a 148, followed by Tyler Davis' 150 which tied him at 25th. Parker Hall's 162 tied him for 72nd and Brandon Hatcher hit 164 and tie for 74th place.
Rand Wasson led the LMU Gray Team as he tied for ninth with a 146. Luke Butler tied for 47th with a 154, followed two strokes behind by Austin Collins, who tied for 54th. Adam Long shot 158 to tie for 61st and Hagan Hensley tied for 74th with a 164.
The event concludes the fall portion of LMU's 2011-12 schedule.
