Mars Hill Shuts Out Railsplitters 4-0 In Regular Season Finale

MARS HILL, NC -- The LMU men's soccer team ran into a buzzsaw as they fell at Mars Hill 4-0 in a South Atlantic Conference match Thursday evening.
The loss drops LMU to 7-6-3 overall and 6-3 in the SAC. It was the regular season finale for the Railsplitters, who now must wait until Saturday evening to see where they are seeded and who they will face in the upcoming Food Lion SAC Tournament.
Mars Hill (10-4-1, 6-2-1 SAC) struck twice in each half. They first got on the scoreboard in the 5th minute when Isaiah Schafer scored from eight yards out. In the 39th minute Nathaniel Enos blasted one in from 30 yards out to give the Lions the 2-0 lead.
In the 57th minute Gregg Munn found the top corner of the net from 30 yards out to give MHC a 3-0 cushion. Brandon Tardioli then put the game out of reach when he took the cross from 10 yards out and scored in the 84th minute.
The Lions outshot the Railsplitters 22-7.
LMU keeper Michael Watkins had eight saves. Zac Scott had one save for the Lions.
