LMU Basketball Coaches Schertz & Smith Attend SAC Media Day

HICKORY, NC - On Wednesday morning, Lincoln Memorial University men's and women's Head Basketball Coaches Josh Schertz and Stephanie Smith joined other head basketball coaches from the South Atlantic Conference Basketball for media day festivities in Hickory, North Carolina.

Both Schertz and Smith spoke about the upcoming season, touching on the 2008-09 schedule as well as their new and returning players.  The Railsplitters have been picked to finish eighth in the preseason poll by coaches throughout the conference, while the Lady Railsplitters have been projected to finish in the number eight spot as well.

Last season the LMU men finished the year with an 8-20 overall record and were eliminated in the first round of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament by Lenoir-Rhyne University.  The Lady Railsplitters completed the 2007-08 season with a 13-15 mark and were defeated by Tusculum College in first round tournament action in their season finale.
