Cheer And Dance Squads Show Support For TWLOHA
February 9, 2012

HARROGATE, TN -- On Saturday February 4, 2012 the LMU Dancers and Cheerleaders continued their community outreach as they chose to show support for the organization To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA). TWLOHA is a movement that is dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for young people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide.
According to TWLOHA, two out of every three people who struggle with depression never seek help, and that untreated depression is the leading cause of suicide. In America alone, it’s estimated that 19 million people live with depression. Suicide is the third-leading cause of death among those 18-24 years old.
The Lincoln Memorial University Dancers and Cheerleaders are dedicated to community service and volunteer work throughout the year. Marcia Yeary Hembree, their coach said "both teams feel it is very important to be aware of and support issues that affect college students and college age students daily. We've all known people who have faced a battle. We will continue to show our love and support to TWLOHA."
