Catawba Shuts Out Lady Railsplitters 2-0

SALISBURY, NC -- The Lincoln Memorial University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at Catawba College Saturday afternoon.
Both teams traded shots at goal until Catawba's Lena Suarez put one in from 10 yards out to give the Indians the 1-0 lead. Early in the second half, Nikki Blackwelder kicked a cross pass to teammate Erinn Wescoat who put it in the goal and put Catawba up 2-0.
LMU sophomore goalkeeper Denise de Resende (Taguatinga, Brazil) ended up with five saves for the match.
The Lady Railspitters fall to 10-4-1 and 3-3 in South Atlantic Conference play. They will next take the field on Wednesday as they travel to Mars Hill for a 7 p.m. meeting with the Lions.
