Lady Railsplitters Draw Seven-Seed, Will Travel To Catawba College For SAC Tournament Opener

ROCK HILL, SC -- The pairings for the 2012 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament were announced Sunday aftertoon with the Lady Railsplitters drawing the no.7 seed. LMU will head to no.2 seed, Catawba College, on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. for the first round matchup.
The Lady Railsplitters finished the regular season with a 14-12 mark and 9-9 in the South Atlantic Conference.
The Lady 'Splitters and Indians played two hotly contested games during the regular season, as they were each decided by less than four points. In the first matchup, Lincoln Memorial ran up a 19 point advantage before the Indians stormed back to steal a 79-75 win in Salisbury, North Carolina. The tables were turned in game two of the season series, as the Lady Railsplitters found themselves facing a 19 point deficit in the second half before rallying to grab a 66-63 victory in Tex Turner Arena.
LMU finishes the regular season leading the South Atlantic Conference in scoring offense, field goal percentage, field goal percentage defense, blocked shots, and assists. Dayshalee Salaman leads the SAC in scoring at 20.8 per contest and assists at 4.56 per.
The winner of this contest will move on to Hickory, North Carolina to take on the winner of the matchup between no.3 Tusculum and no.6 Newberry on Saturday, March 3rd.
