Lady Railsplitter Softball Team Picks Up Signee During Early Signing Period

HARROGATE, TN - Lincoln Memorial University Head Softball Coach Dan Burns announced Tuesday morning that Cierra Mudd (Rutledge, TN) has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball with the Lady Railsplitters for the 2009-10 season.
Mudd, a pitcher/outfielder, comes to the Lady Railsplitter program from nearby Granger County High School where she was named all-district three seasons, all district tournament two years, Team MVP in 2008, district tournament MVP in 2008 and received the 110% award. "Cierra could be an impact player for us next year," said LMU Head Coach Dan Burns. "She is a strong hitter and pitcher with great potential."
Mudd is a Scholastic Award winner and is a 4.0 student. She is the daughter of Brian Mudd and Crystal Pratt and is undecided as to what major she will pursue while attending Lincoln Memorial University. Mudd will join the Lady Railsplitters in August of 2009 for fall semester classes at LMU.
