LMU Golf Teams Represented on SAC All-Tournament Teams

ETOWAH, NC - Lincoln Memorial University golfers Cory Bartlett (Shanty Bay, Ontario, Canada), Eric Kennedy (Powell, TN) and Maria Stapleton (White Pine, TN) were recently named to the South Atlantic Conference All-Tournament Teams at the conference tournament in Etowah, North Carolina.
Bartlett, a sophomore, narrowly missed medalist honors, finishing second overall at this year's SAC Tournament. Bartlett recorded rounds of 73, 73 and 72 for a final score of 218, one stroke behind medalist Chase Carroll of Tusculum College and was two strokes over par.
Kennedy who is only a freshman, tied for fourth place in his first South Atlantic Conference Tournament with rounds of 72, 75 and 73 for a total 220. Kennedy finished three strokes behind the leader and four strokes over par.
Named to the women's South Atlantic Conference All-Tournament Team was Lady Railsplitter freshman Maria Stapleton. Stapleton made a top-10 finish in her first South Atlantic Conference Tournament, finishing tenth overall with rounds of 77, 87 and 83 for a final 247. Her efforts put her 27 strokes behind eventual medalist Sarah Jane Sinard of Carson-Newman College and 31 strokes over par for the event.
All three of these individuals will return in the fall of 2009 to again compete for the Lincoln Memorial University men's and women's golf programs which are under the direction of Head Coach Travis Muncy.
