Lady Railsplitter Soccer Team Has Tough Weekend In Georgia
September 13, 2009
HARROGATE, TN - This past weekend and the state of Georgia were unkind to the Lincoln Memorial University women's soccer team who fell to 2-2-2 with Friday's 0-0 overtime tie with Georgia College & State University and Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to Southern New Hampshire.
The two events combined mark the fourth consecutive match the LMU women have been denied victory as they now prepare for their final non-conference match this Wednesday before opening the South Atlantic Conference schedule this weekend. On Wednesday, the Lady Railsplitters play host to NAIA opponent Tennessee Wesleyan College before traveling to Brevard, North Carolina on Saturday to take on league opponent Brevard College at 1:00 o'clock.
The Lady Railsplitters are in need of a shot in the arm confidence wise when they host the Bulldogs this Wednesday. The LMU women's last win was against Barton College on August 29 in their second match of the season. Since that time, the Lady Railsplitters have played three overtime matches with two resulting in ties and two resulting in losses. Wednesday's match with Tennessee Wesleyan gets underway at 2:00 p.m.
