March 10, 2010
HARROGATE, TN - Lincoln Memorial University men's soccer midfielder Aaron McKenna (Walmley, England) has been named to the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-Region team.
A three-year starter with the Railsplitters, McKenna was team captain for the last year LMU squad as a junior while helping his team finish the season with a 10-5-1 overall record and a 6-1-1 South Atlantic Conference mark.
Although the Railsplitters were eliminated in the quarterfinal round of the 2009 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Tournament, McKenna had still made a big enough impression on the conference head coaches to earn All-South Atlantic Conference First Team honors and later earned NSCAA All-Southeast Region Second Team status.
As a 2009 NSCAA Scholar All-Region honoree, McKenna possesses a 3.91 grade point average and is a mathematics major at Lincoln Memorial University. He is scheduled to graduate with his undergraduate degree in May of 2011.
