Lady Railsplitters Place 7th At Agnes McAmis Memorial Tournament

GREENEVILLE, TN - The Lincoln Memorial University women's golf team placed 7th among the field of 17 teams participating in this year's tournament held at Link Hill Contry Club in Greeneville, Tennessee on Monday and Tuesday.
The Lady Railsplitters turned in rounds of 325 and 315 to finish the tournament with a team score of 640, which was 36 strokes back of eventual champion Methodist College the defending NCAA Division III National Champions.
Brittany McCown finished highest among the LMU players particpating. McCowan shot a 78 and a 77 for a two-day total 155 to finish the tournament tied for 19th place, 11 strokes over par and 15 strokes behind the leader.
Also finishing inside the top-25 was LMU sophomore Maria Stapleton who turned in rounds of 85 and 73 for a final score of 158 to tie for 25th place. Teammate Desta Coaker tied for 41st place with 84 and 80 for a combined 164 while junior Kirsten Wolff finished the tournament tied for 43rd place with rounds of 79 and 86 for a final 165.
Lady Railsplitter Chelsea Boshears narrowly missed making the top-50, turning in rounds of 84 and 85 for a two-day total 169 which helped her tie for 52nd. Teammate Rhoni Daikoff finished the tournament not far behind. Daikoff turned in scores of 84 and 86 for a combined tournament score of 170 to finished tied for 55th place.
Now finished with the regular season schedule, the Lady Railsplitters have until April 19-20 to prepare for the upcoming 2010 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Women's Golf Championship to be held at Etowah Valley Country Club in Etowah, North Carolina.
