Now entering his fourth year as the Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) soccer program’s full-time assistant coach, Adriano de Moraes is involved in all phases of the programs. During this time he has been able to bring to the table a great deal of soccer knowledge, quality leadership and a work ethic that was second to none.
Before coming to LMU as a student-athlete in 2006, Adriano had the opportunity to play soccer at a high level by playing and training with outstanding players and coaches in several clubs in Brazil, including São José Esporte Clube, Associação Atlética Matonense and Associação Atlética Internacional de Limeira. He also, worked as a High School Physical Educator Teacher in Brazil and as Youth Program Director at YMCA in São José dos Campos - Brazil.
Although Adriano only played one season for the Railsplitters, his contributions as a player and as a coach are evident in most of LMU soccer programs major achievements, such as: 2012 Men’s SAC Tournament Final, 2007/08 Men’s Appalachian Region titles, 2007/08 Women’s and Men’s SAC Tournament Titles, 2007/08 Men’s NCAA National Finalist (Final Four) and 2006/07 Men’s NCAA Nationals Semifinalist (Final Four).
Adriano possess a Master’s degree in Education – School Counseling from Lincoln Memorial University, which has helped provide him with numerous skills to effectively manage students-athletes’ challenges during their college years. Additionally, the Bachelor’s degree in Physical Educational from University of Vale do Paraiba (Brazil) that he earned has allowed him to use the accurate knowledge when working with athletes in order to reach their best fitness performance.
In addition to his regular duties at LMU he is also the men’s soccer head coach at LMU's J. Frank White Academy and has been working with youth soccer leagues surround the community in order to promote the sport, help children’s development and increase LMU Soccer programs relationship with the community.
Adriano, his wife Maria Clara and their four year old daughter Larissa live in Harrogate.
